Madagascan Bullseye Silkmoth Resin Earrings -- Antherina suraka
A beautiful moth in the worldwide silkmoth family, reigning from Madagascar.
This beauty feeds on a very wide variety of hostplants as a caterpillar. As an adult moth, it doesn't feed, instead living off its fat reserves stored up during the larvae stage. Silkmoths do have mouthparts as adults, but they are vestigial.
In response to predators the hindwings will move in a symmetrical circular motion to scare away potential birds.
