Pacific Green Sphinx Moth Resin Earrings -- Proserpinus lucidus
A very interesting early season sphinx moth. These fly in March in the Columbia Basin, many times when there is still snow on the ground.
We collect them each year as the first species of the season. It's hard to not call them a Valentine's Day Moth, with the little hearts on the wings...and they sometimes are flying at that time.
Larvae feed on evening primrose family plants, and pupate underground.
