These are raised on our butterfly farm. We rear hundreds of this lovely species each season.
The second largest butterfly in North America. These are quite a sight! It can be found gliding through the dry desert valleys of Eastern Washington and Oregon, and south into Mexico. The larvae feed on Chokecherry and ornamental Ash trees.
