Lorquin's Admiral Post Earrings -- Limenitis lorquini
This active butterfly has multiple broods in the Pacific Northwest and a variety of host plants. Males are quite active in late spring and early summer, competing with much larger swallowtail butterflies for territory along mountain streams.
Earrings use the more interesting ventral side facing outward.
